Neighbourhood Navigators provide a hands on information and support service to the hard to reach and least engaged members of these communities and work with them to better access local services to meet their needs. The service takes the learning and experience from the community research project, the existing
Help Direct service, the existing local area co-ordination approaches and provides a service led by local people for local people.
The Neighbourhood Navigator service is available to all adults aged 18 years plus who live within Burnley with a particular emphasis on vulnerable people who are considered vunerable or
- At risk of becoming socially isolated and excluded;
- At risk of losing their independence;
- Experiencing feelings of loneliness;
- Experiencing low level mental / physical health problems;
- Have a learning or physical disability.
The neighbourhood navigator service will be ceasing in its existing form from 31st December 2013. However continued support will be available from Linkbridge and Help Direct. Referrals can be made and support provided by the following:

The service will hold drop in events in the community and If needed Help Direct can also carry out home visits.
